Who we are
Better Golf Tee is operated by Ocean Edgewater LLC, a California limited liability company headquartered in Los Angeles, California, United States. We are the "controller" of the personal information we collect about you. Questions about this policy: contact@bettergolftee.com.
What we collect, in plain English
We try to collect as little as possible. The categories below are everything.
- Email signups and reservations. When you give us your email to be notified or to reserve a spot, we store: your email address, an optional name, an optional SKU preference, the country your IP resolves to (via Cloudflare), your IP address (for fraud and abuse prevention), a User-Agent string, and the time you submitted.
- Orders, once we accept them. Name, email, shipping address, phone (optional), and payment information. Payment data is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy practices are at stripe.com/privacy.
- Email correspondence. If you write to contact@ or sales@, we keep the email so we can answer.
- Site analytics. When Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, we collect aggregate, anonymized traffic data: pageviews, referrers, browser/device class. No cookies. No personal identifiers. No fingerprinting.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this site.
Why we collect it (legal bases)
- Consent for marketing communications and reservations.
- Contract performance for orders we accept.
- Legitimate interest for fraud prevention, security, and improving the product.
Who we share it with
We share only with the operational vendors required to deliver what we promise:
- Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, security, analytics) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Resend (transactional email, when enabled) — resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Stripe (payments, when active) — stripe.com/privacy
- USPS or other carriers (shipping) — for order delivery
We never sell your data. We never trade or rent your data. We never share with advertising networks.
How long we keep your data
- Email signups and reservations: until you ask us to delete them, or 5 years of inactivity, whichever comes first.
- Order records: 7 years (US tax and consumer-protection retention requirements).
- Email correspondence: 3 years.
- Site analytics: 6 months (Cloudflare default).
California residents (CCPA and CPRA)
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act give you these rights:
- Right to know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
- Right to delete. Request that we delete the personal information we have about you, subject to limited exceptions (legal obligations, ongoing transactions).
- Right to correct. Request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing." We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is nothing for you to opt out of, but you have the right to make the request.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive categories (race, religion, biometrics, precise geolocation, etc.).
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any California right, email contact@bettergolftee.com with the subject "CCPA Request." We respond within 45 days.
European / UK residents (GDPR and UK GDPR)
If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have these additional rights:
- Access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability.
- Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time.
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The data controller is Ocean Edgewater LLC. We do not have an EU representative because our processing is occasional and not large-scale per Article 27(2). To exercise GDPR rights: contact@bettergolftee.com.
International data transfers
Our servers (Cloudflare's network) and primary vendors (Stripe, Resend) operate globally. If you are outside the US, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on the appropriate Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: HTTPS everywhere (HSTS preloaded), Cloudflare's edge-level DDoS and WAF protections, encrypted database storage in Cloudflare D1, restricted-access API keys (never logged), and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use tracking cookies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, social media pixels, or marketing-funnel analytics. The only browser storage we use is functional (your menu open state). When Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, it operates without cookies.
Do Not Track
We do not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track you to begin with.

Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will email everyone on our notification list and update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Substantive changes also get a banner on the home page for at least 30 days.
