The eco cost of lost tees.
Wooden tees biodegrade slowly. Plastic tees do not biodegrade at all. The math of practice waste.
The numbers, honestly
Golf waste is a small fraction of total municipal solid waste. We are not pretending that switching tees solves climate change. But for individual golfers who care about practice quality and incidentally about waste, a tethered system meaningfully reduces both.
What ends up in a landfill from a single year of range golf
- ~200 wooden or plastic tees per active practicer
- The packaging those tees came in (typically a plastic clamshell or a poly bag)
- ~30 broken plastic ball markers
The Better Golf Tee delta
One 4-pack lasts a year for the average range golfer. The caddy is recyclable kraft. The cord is replaceable polyester. The TPU is recyclable in a small but real recycle stream. Total waste per year drops by ~95% versus disposable tees.
