How tour pros tee it up.
What we can learn from PGA Tour broadcast slow-motion footage.
Driver: roughly 2 inches
Most modern Tour pros tee the driver between 1¾ and 2 inches. Bryson DeChambeau famously tees it higher to optimize attack angle. Scottie Scheffler tees it standard.
3-wood: 1 inch or off the deck
Half the field tees up the 3-wood on a Par 4; the other half hits it off the deck. The teed shots cluster at 1 inch ball-bottom.
Driving iron / utility: ¼ inch
Almost universally low. Even on a Par 3, you rarely see a Tour pro tee an iron higher than ¼ inch.
The takeaway
Tour pros use roughly the heights we ship. The math works out because the math is the math: ball geometry plus club geometry plus a consistent strike pattern.
